Today

Today was a stressful, tiring but productive day.  My mom's flight was delayed, which delayed her shuttle to RMH, so she arrived at 2AM.  We woke up early to get to the hospital, so needless to say we didn't get much sleep.  (We're so happy she is here though!)

This morning Kian went to the cath lab to get his dialysis catheter placed.  This was so stressful because there are so many risks (including excessive bleeding) that can occur. Thank God that Kian did wonderfully through the procedure and has a beautiful new catheter in!  We are so proud and amazed at his strength!

Kian started hemodialysis this afternoon and it is going smoothly thus far.  We have to watch to make sure his blood pressure stays stable as we remove fluid, but it is rock steady as of now.  We are so excited that everything went well and Kian is on his way to getting the excess fluid off (finally)!  Soon he will be a smaller Kian! :)

The plan is for Kian to get all of the excess fluid off so that he is less swollen.  This will allow the surgeon to be successful in closing his chest after surgery.  We are praying that today was a huge step toward surgery and toward recovery!  Thank you for your prayers!
