In previous updates we have mentioned Kian's trouble with his chest tubes & respiratory issues. Well, these problems are back!
Last night Kian was having more trouble breathing. So an x-ray was done. The doctors found that there was fluid build up in Kian's left lung. So guess what? He had another chest tube put in this morning to drain this fluid! That is chest tube #5!!!
Kian has still been having trouble getting off the ventilator. He really does well, even with the lowest settings but has to work hard to breathe after a period of time. So tomorrow he will be having a CT scan of his lungs to see if there is a cause to these respiratory issues. On Tuesday he will be having another bronchoscopy also. Hopefully between these two tests we can figure out what is causing Kian difficulties.
We are so torn. One part of us doesn't want there to be anything wrong. But then there will be no explanation for Kian's troubles...then what? Another part of us does want the tests to show what the problem is so it can be fixed. But this could mean further procedures or even surgery! Ugh!

ReplyDeleteWe pray that God will be with Kian during the testing (& know He will be) & that Kian will shows signs of improvement soon from whatever is causing these issues (even if the cause isn't determined!). We will look for updates on the results. Sending love & hugs!
