Kian's surgery will be this Friday.
Thank God that he is handling his feeds into his stomach and he won't have to have the "big" operation that was being discussed. The surgeon will go in and close up the feeding tube he has now, that feeds directly into the intestines. He will then put in a new feeding tube that will feed into the stomach.
Anytime surgery comes up Zach and I are nervous (to say the least). Kian will have to be intubated and have the breathing tube down his throat again. He will then have to come off the breathing tube and breathe on his own again. He will have to go under anesthesia, which is hard on any cardiac baby. He will have to be on strong pain meds and be weaned off of them. He will have to deal with the pain of the procedure. It is all very scary and a lot for him to go through.
But in saying all that, Zach and I are also excited. We are truly hoping that this surgery will give Kian a way to get all his nutrition, help him to grow and get him home! After almost four months of being in the hospital Kian deserves to get home and be around family and friends.
So please keep praying for our little fighter! Pray that the surgery on Friday goes smoothly and that this is the answer to help Kian thrive and get home!
Thank you!
Thank God for the good news. Even though he still needs to go thru so much am so sure he will be home soon. WE LOVE YOU sweetheart.Mia
